João Lopes Aguiar is an engineer passionate about travel and who is the author of travel books and videos. During 19 months completed his first world tour through 25 countries two 5 continents hitchhiking, boat, by car and helicopter. Volunteered and slept almost always on sofas. The adventures of this trip are available in your first book: My Discoveries - Around the World in Couchsurfing.

He holds an engineering degree from IST in Lisbon and completed several writing and management courses. He worked in engineering as well as in radio, written press and online dissemination. Furthermore, is a volunteer in projects related to the environment, culture and social causes.
